Adapted from an anime screenshot. How did this happen?~ Well, I got really bored one night, wanting to create my own cross stitch design again (I crochet, too. :> Hurr.) I decided to do something absurd, as usual. I thought, "Yes, this must be done. There absolutely MUST be the Akatsuki in a cross stitch mobile - all together." So, in my flurry of awkward inspiration, I set to work, spending a few hours collecting anime screenshots of the members and cropping the images to a portrait size. I didn't want just the frontal face shots - I wanted some variety in the way they were all portrayed - looking in different directions, different angles, different expressions. The Akatsuki is not exactly uniform in personality, after all.~ This is just the first of the series I am working on. It took me a lot of time and patience to finish it, roughly about 3 days in all to get to the point where it is now. I'm thinking about changing the rough design, which is on graph paper, into a more readable design made on the computer, so people can have a fun little design to look at and work with their cross-stitching skills (if they are crazy like me and like to cross-stitch, that is.~) Though, I think I should have put the scrap of Aida fabric I used in a hoop...it came out all stretched and warped from holding it. D: and here I thought it wouldn't matter in the final piece...Eh, I'll work out the kinks later. I'm considering making a tutorial that shows how I make designs and how I cross-stitch with them.<3 However, the backstitches go beyond the holes in the Aida fabric, and I had to go over a few backstitches (black outlines) just to get the outline smooth. Knowledge of French knot and 3/4 stitch is required. If you're in favor of a tutorial, say aye! And I'll put up a poll to see which character you guys want me to work with. ;3
